Martinez Mine

There is only scattered and contradicting information about the Martinez Mine Mill remains located North East of Florence.  The remains include a cabin, reportedly built in 1947, and a stone and adobe casita of unknown age.  The mine mill building is fairly well preserved and has the remains of old machinery such as engines and conveyor belts.

There are several mine shafts and caves, or overhangs, which have been reported to have been used for everything from a bunk house for miners to an open air saloon.

While the correct history of this location seems to be in dispute, it is worth the trip to see the old machinery as well as the surrounding natural scenery.

The mill and surrounding area is privately owned.  Access has been possible in the past, but please respects any postings regarding access if you go.
